News | Tipping in History (Visit to Hook Norton Brewery)
20 people enjoyed a trip to Hook Norton Brewery, Near Banbury on Saturday 5th September. It was a cold start as we boarded the coach at Westcroft, but everyone soon warmed up when the first Quiz was handed out!
After just more than one hour, we arrived at the Brewery and were split into two groups. Ros and Noel proceeded to explain to all, the process of brewing beer in the amazing original building.
Sampling various grains and smelling different hops gave us all an insight into the different flavours obtained.
The tour concluded with sampling four different beers in the tourist centre where many purchased more samples to take home.
Buffet lunch was served at the local Sun Inn Pub and we then all boarded the coach, and for those not already snoring – undertook Quiz No. 2. The totals of both quizzes was added up and the winners – Andrew and Judith Horton were given a box of After Eights.
The coach and its contents landed back at Westcroft at 3.30 much warmer than it had left, and all agreed it had been a great day out.
