Our Club was delighted to induct Jill Moss on Monday 5th August 2013.
Starting her working life in a laboratory and raising 3 children, Jill went on to a teaching career initially teaching the deaf, then Senior SEN Teacher and was also a Youth Counsellor in a Comprehensive school.
She has a degree with the OU and a Master's in Special Educational Needs.
During her mid years, she became afflicted with ME and forced into early retirement and during a long convalescing period founded and ran a national charity called AYME (Association of Young People with ME), wrote 4 books on the subject and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Open University.
The charity has been a huge success, taking her to 10 Downing Street, Parliament and recently St James' Palace to meet the Queen.
The Charity continues to grow and supports 10,000 children and their families. As a board member Jill is continually involved and ensures that the interests of the members are heard all the way to no 10 Downing Street.
Married to a very active Rotarian, John Moss and as a Past President of ‘Inner Wheel’, Jill brings a wealth of experience to our club.
