Satellite causes are always focused on Children and Young People. We also assist the main club in some of their activities, particularly Swimathon and Lend a Hand.

BFC – Big Family Christmas

Our next project plans to give a large group of specially selected, underprivileged children and their families a Christmas to remember.

On Christmas Eve 2017, they will enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Milton Keynes College and Cheshire Contracting & Control, with Games and activities during the afternoon.

MK Food Bank is providing advent calendars for the children to build up to the day, and Christmas Food Hampers for them all to take home afterward. John Lewis have donated delightful toy puppies for each child.

Individual sponsors are providing a £50 Christmas gift for each of the children: a specially requested gift bought and wrapped by the sponsor themselves.

MK Youth to Uganda

March 2017 – to Sept 2017

We became a Satellite Club in February 2017 and in the first six months, the founder members found an exciting project, held a sponsored Golf Day, and raised thousands of pounds towards the cost of a large playground which the Youth to Uganda team built in a Children’s Centre for rescued orphans.

Under the guidance of ‘East African Playgrounds’, the team of young people began by clearing the site of rubbish and a broken slide. Then the back-breaking task of digging the foundations for the play equipment.

The tyres were all carried into position, cemented in and given three coats of paint.

Finally, the Children’s Centre had a bright, strong and safe playground in which to develop their social and emotional skills.

The team of Young People had challenged and pushed themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of, identifying skills they didn’t know they had and developing many more. Every single young person learnt something about themselves and finished with healthier, more hopeful outlooks about themselves and their futures.
