News | A wonderful conference. We were winners!
Six members of the club had a fantastic weekend of fun, food and Rotary at the annual District 1260 conference, held in Scarborough on 18th and 19th June 2011. We all travelled up in time to go out for a meal together on Friday night. (See photos!) The hotel accommodation was excellent, especially the breakfasts!
Saturday was the main conference day, a new approach and much less formal than in the past. There was excellent content too, and consistent branding with appealing colours. This continued on the Sunday. Fish and chips for lunch! We all travelled home on Sunday afternoon. A great time was had by all.
Winners too!
The first award was when President Adrian was proud to be presented with a Presidential Citation, with Distinction. There were only two! (The other was Ampthill.)
Later on Saturday evening there was the 'Oscars' prize winners presentations. We had been shortlisted in two categories;
Best Club Website. We are the winners! A great achievement and recognition of the new look Website, and the content provided by everyone. Well done indeed.
DG's Trophy. Unfortunately we didn't win this but just to be one of the three Clubs shortlisted was a fantastic achievement. Well done everyone!
