The Milton Keynes Rotary Satellite Club is a small group of Rotarians who prefer an informal approach to Rotary meetings, using our skills to give something back to the community. Attendance is flexible to fit around work, business and personal obligations.

The informal monthly business meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7.15pm at the Holiday Inn, Central Milton Keynes. The meetings are lively and light in nature, but we get a lot done! The second meeting of the month is intended to be more of a social meet-up, or a focussed project meeting with the day/venue kept flexible.

We presently have 9 Satellite Rotarians, all with one focus: ‘working for children and young people - our future.’ We utilise individual skills from each member to get a project done. It’s important to us that everyone has relatively equal status whilst recognising individual skills within the group, giving what time can be afforded.

The Satellite Club is affiliated to the main club, with RIBI/District dues being paid to the main club. However, Satellite follows its own rules and has its own bank account.

Crocus Planting

30 people pitched up to help us plant 5,000 crocuses in the garden of the Coffee Hall Youth Centre. Much fun was had by all and we’re looking forward to holding a BBQ in the garden when they flower in the Spring.

Sausage Sizzle

A team of Satelliters and MK Rotarians cooked and sold over 200 sausage sandwiches outside Bunnings Warehouse. Mark was praised for his cooking skills with several customers coming back for more! Money raised goes towards the Big Family Christmas event.

Big Family Christmas preparations

Time to wrap 50 presents in preparation for the BFC on Christmas Eve. Carefully wrapped and quality controlled we managed the first 35 on one evening. 15 more to go!

Summer Barbeque 2017

The BBQ was a great opportunity to welcome the families of all Satellite members, always an amazing excuse to grill some burgers and plan new opportunities to help our community.

Inaugural Night

In February 2017 some of our Founder Members were inducted into Rotary by the President of the sponsor club, under the watchful eye of the District Governor. Membership rapidly increased.
